El martes se me ocurrió diseñar algo con escamas, pero... upps, surgió un pequeño problema:
Last Tuesday, I decided that it was time to desing something with scales, but there was a little problem:
¿Como puedo diseñar algo con escamas si nunca he plegado algo que lleve escamas y ni idea de cómo hacerlas?
How can I design something with scales if I've never tried to fold anything with scales? Thus I had no idea how to make it
Entonces, decidí empezar por seguir el consejo que por ahi alguna vez escuché o leí: "Por cada modelo que diseñes, debes de plegar al menos 10 modelos de otros autores para adquirir algo que es escencial para diseñar y que se llama: PRACTICA."
So I decided to follow the advise I read or heard sometime: "If you want to design anything, first you have to fold at least 10 models per model you try to design" This is true because, there is something essential for being a successful designer and is called: PRACTICE.
Así que desde el Martes me aventuré a intentar el Aligator Americano de Michael Laffose y debo de decir que las escamas de este modelo no son díficiles pero si tediosas, así que decidí tomar un descanso para escribir en el blog.
So last Tuesday I started folding the American Alligator by Michael Laffose. I have to say that the process of making the scales is easy but tedious. This is why I decided to take a little break.
Ya veremos si puedo plegar la figura del cuadrado tan pequeño que usé. Los diagramas recomiendan un tamaño de papel de 1.80 metros y yo estoy usando una hoja de papel periódico de unos 50 cm de lado para practicar y creo que después de todo el colapsado de las escamas, va a quedar de unos 17 cm de lado . Es decir, una miniatura a ver que tal...
I do not know yet if I will be able to fold the model succesfully because I used a small sheet of paper. The diagrams recommends a 1.80 meter sheet but mine (a newspaper sheet for this first try), is just 50 cm size and I suppose it will be reduced to 17 cm size when I finish the scales. Is going to be a mini-alligator!
